A boquet for mankind...

I'm a Corona virus, they named me Covid-19
I'm a well oiled killing-machine
I arrived to teach you the word quarantine

My humble beginnings were from a small city in China
They thought I was a tamed lion, I proved to be a hyena

I was the best kept secret until I spread like wildfire,
They thought I was a minefield, I proved to be a quagmire

I don't have passport or visa, I don't even need an invite
I invade any country freely and only doctors put up a fight

My arrival has caused the world to come to a standstill
My victims tremble, as researchers scramble to create 'that' magic pill

I'm unstoppable once I spread my dark wings
I'm not afraid of advanced weapons, as nothing stings

They have realised only the soap and sanitizer can destroy me
Countries boasting modern weapons have been brought to their knee

News channels across world chronicle my crusade
Dry cough, fever and breathlessness are my facade

I ingress victims' body through eyes, nose and tongues
My ultimate destiny is to reach your lungs

I arrive clandestinely, take 2 weeks to plot my havoc
If you can't identify me during this fortnight, I run amok

I have claimed victims from New York to Rome
Only way to stop me is to lockdown and stay home

I was mocked, stating how much can I damage as I'm almost invisible
Those same people are now shocked, as I'm proving to be invincible

I'm a teacher, I have taught people to focus on their need
In a world which moved at break-neck speed, to feed their greed

I'm a benefactor, I have granted you much-needed time
To pursue your hobby or reminisce experiences of a lifetime

I'm a healer too, I helped reduce air pollution
Mother earth was ailing, I provided a quick solution

I'm not to be judged in black and white, my kingdom is grey
Am I a thorn or am I a rose? I'd say I'm just a boquet
