I'm a Corona virus, they named me Covid-19 I'm a well oiled killing-machine I arrived to teach you the word quarantine My humble beginnings were from a small city in China They thought I was a tamed lion, I proved to be a hyena I was the best kept secret until I spread like wildfire, They thought I was a minefield, I proved to be a quagmire I don't have passport or visa, I don't even need an invite I invade any country freely and only doctors put up a fight My arrival has caused the world to come to a standstill My victims tremble, as researchers scramble to create 'that' magic pill I'm unstoppable once I spread my dark wings I'm not afraid of advanced weapons, as nothing stings They have realised only the soap and sanitizer can destroy me Countries boasting modern weapons have been brought to their knee News channels across world chronicle my crusade Dry cough, fever and breathlessness are my facade I ingress victims' body through eyes, nose and ton...

The crawling armada has come to a grinding halt Necks are raised in unison to identify the one at fault Oh! It's the mandate of the glowing red dot Same old story, same old spot All helpless victims too familiar with the plot Just a minute and quickly spreads the cancerous clot Time stands still as motion is now an illusion As more vehicles join the stagnant procession For some, it's just another game Start-Stop, repeat and take god's name in vain Impatient drivers curse the seeping two wheeled pests As they feel trapped in their four wheeled nests The drizzle has settled the nomadic dust The excruciating wait makes my bones rust Hungry pack of wolves honk as impatience is evident As finally... the rufescent dot turns virescent They rev-up and rejoice as they feel liberated The fleeting freedom, obliterated even before it started!
